Agia Anna is one of the most picturesque areas on the island of Naxos. It is a small, little-developed fishing village, but still has all the facilities you need, even for a longer stay. Don’t worry, Agia Anna is still a beach resort, and you can also enjoy the beautiful waters of Naxos.

Families will particularly appreciate Agia Anna because it is located 6 km / 3.7 mi from Naxos Chora, the most active area of the island, and is much more peaceful. Agia Anna has long, sandy beaches and even water sports, as well as a large choice of accommodations, from low-rise apartments to beachfront hotels.

Whether you want to connect more with locals or escape in a paradisiacal area with your loved ones, Agia Anna is the place to go for your Naxos family holidays.

Where to Stay in Agia Anna

You and your family will definitely love Agia Anna. It is a peaceful, typical, and beautiful Greek village in which locals are much more accessible than in the bustling city of Naxos Chora. Besides, walks and hikes are also possible, although the amazing beach is very tempting…

Kapares Studios is located in a calm area of Agia Anna. You will be welcomed with fresh vegetables and watermelons and will have a free private parking spot.

Most peaceful place to stay in Naxos: Kastraki

Kastraki is a small village located about 5.2 km / 3.2 mi from Plaka Beach, my personal best pick. It is by far the most peaceful place to stay in Naxos for you and your family since it lacks nightlife and activities in general; however, you will all love its stunning beach with not many tourists on it.

During the summer, many tavernas are open on Naxos Island, and also in Kastraki. You will be able to relax with your family and have a drink on a deck chair.

My favorite thing about the beach of Kastraki is that it is not particularly organized, which sounds negative but is actually a very, very serious advantage: this means you will be free to explore the wilderness of Naxos, all the while enjoying the many facilities such as hotels, shops, and restaurants at Kastraki. There is even an in-land salted lake near the beach, and it is definitely a very good pick for you and your family.

Where to Stay in Kastraki

Kastraki is definitely one of the best places for your next trip to Naxos as a family. It is very quiet and undisturbed, making it a truly paradisiacal escape.

Although it is not very developed or organized, it still has plenty of options for you to choose from, which can be quite discouraging and difficult; don’t worry, just have a look at my personal top picks, adapted to your situation:

Heading to Kastraki and having a difficult time picking a hotel? Just go for Dolphin Kastraki Studios, you cannot go wrong with these.
