The Basic Tee

You simply can’t leave without a good tee in your luggage! T-shirts effortlessly pair with all kinds of bottoms so you can create multiple outfits with minimal effort. It’s also very light and compact, saving valuable space in your luggage.

The best tees are made of cotton, as it’s a fabric that keeps you cool and comfortable in hot weather. And they can be quickly washed and dried, perfect when traveling.

Cropped tops, regular, oversized…There are lots of different styles, here are my fav:

The Classic Tank Top

Like T-shirts, tank tops are basics everyone should pack for summer. Offering both comfort and versatility, they keep you cool in hot weather and can be layered for added warmth or style.

Comfy and highly breathable, it’s available in various versions, from sporty to more classic:

The Perfect Shorts

Shorts are the best bottoms to wear when traveling in summer. They provide breathability and freedom of movement, so you don’t have to worry about wearing them for any activity. They can be easily dressed up or down, taking you from sightseeing to a casual dinner effortlessly.

The All-Purpose Jeans

Despite the warm weather, jeans are a valuable and smart addition to your wardrobe. Even if you check the weather forecast every day before departure, you’ll never know: rain or chilly weather can still happen.

Jeans are a stylish option for flying, enjoying cooler evenings, or indoor activities. Their timeless appeal makes them easy to match, whatever the season actually.

The Breathable Pants

Breathable pants are a must when packing for summer travel. Made of lightweight fabrics such as linen, these pants provide comfort and flexibility.

The difference with shorts? They also offer protection for your legs, which is best for outdoor activities. And don’t worry about sweating: they allow air circulation, keeping you cool and dry even in hot weather.

The Versatile Dress

The dress is undoubtedly the easiest garment to wear in summer! There’s no need to think about creating a look, it’s the best choice for a no-fuss style.

They’re versatile enough to be dressed up with accessories for a night out or dressed down for a casual day of exploring.

The Button-Down Shirt

A button-down shirt is essential to your summer wardrobe. You can wear it alone, or use it as a light vest with a T-shirt or a tank top under it. And it’s so light you can carry it in your bag all day long so you can wear it if the weather changes.

They suit both casual outings and more formal events, so make sure to pack one.

The Top Quality Bathing Suit

No explanation is needed! If you’re going on vacation to the beach, a hotel resort with plenty of pools, or even the mountains, swimwear is a must.

Having a quality bathing suit is important though, so rely on good basics such as these ones:

The Light Cardigan

I’ll never repeat enough, it’s KEY to be prepared for bad weather. My wife Nes got really sick on our summer honeymoon in Morrocco because she didn’t bring a cardigan for the chiller nights there. I can tell you she deeply regretted it!

The Walking Sandals

You’ll be much more comfortable walking in summer with open shoes. They allow your feet to breathe keeping them cool and preventing discomfort in hot weather.

If you’re planning long walks, choose lightweight cushioned sandals with adjustable straps to provide support and comfort. Otherwise, the Birkenstocks are my all-time favorite and go with pretty everything.

The Comfy Sneakers

If there’s one item to pick to travel whatever the season, it has to be sneakers. Personally, I always travel wearing sneakers and I rarely change shoes!

Here’s a good selection of summer sneakers:

The All Terrain Flip-Flops

Flip-flops are perfect for beach outings and casual strolls. They are easy to slip on and off, making them perfect for navigating sandy shores or relaxing by the pool. Choose a water-resistant material for your flip-flops.

The Crossbody Bag

Having a crossbody bag is absolutely necessary when traveling! The hands-free design allows you to move around comfortably, whatever you’re doing. With multiple compartments and secure closures, a crossbody bag keeps your essentials organized and easily accessible while on the go. And contrary to backpacks, you can keep an eye on it to make sure your belongings stay safe.

The Essential Sun Protection Items

When traveling in summer, you must protect yourself from the sun as it can be very harmful. A good SPF 50 sunscreen, a hat with full coverage, and sunglasses are essentials.

Other  Must-Haves

Here are other travel items that you should consider carrying with you when going on a summer trip:
