The national sport of Haiti is football.
Haitians are completely crazy about football. The streets of Port-au-Prince are often filled with poor Haitians playing football with whatever they can because the fact that football is so affordable is the main reason why it is so popular in the country.

Haiti is a small country located on the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles, and it is bordered by the Dominican Republic. Its capital city is Port-au-Prince, which counts more than 987,000 inhabitants (but more than 2,618,000 if you include the metropolitan area).
An interesting part of the country that I wanted to tackle is its most popular sports. In light of that, I have listed the top 3 Haiti’s popular sports, and I hope you will love them:
Football
The most popular sport in Haiti is, like in many other countries, football, by far and away.
The sport is not considered a religion like in Brazil for instance, but it is still vastly popular. Many Haitian kids, teenagers, and even adults spend most of their free time practicing the sport, even without proper facilities. The country is very poor, so players use whatever they find to play the sport.

Basketball
The second most popular sport in Haiti is basketball.
Considering how poor the country of Haiti is, basketball is much more problematic than football in terms of popularity: it is very hard for players to build a basketball hoop and find a decent ball. It is still second on this list nonetheless.

Baseball
The third Haiti national sport is another American sport, baseball.
Finally, baseball is also a sport you can sometimes see in the country, even though really scarcely. Haitians are extremely talented at sports in general, and baseball is no exception: they are great pitchers most of the time.
