If you like history, you can visit the Byzantine Museum and its 15th to 17th centuries art, but whether you are a fanatic of history or not, you should definitely visit the Venetian Castle, which overlooks the city.

In fact, there are so many of them (and so much competition with other tourists) that it can truly become a pain to plan your next trip… which is why I have listed my personal top 3 picks:

With an incredible average rate of 10 out of 10, there is no better place in all of Zante Town than Lambros Sea View. This fantastic accommodation, run by a private landlord, is very spacious, clean, and tidy.

What’s best about Lambros Sea View though is the sea view. It is perfectly located and it gazes at the sea from its beautiful balcony.

When you are traveling as a family, I would say that the main thing you are looking for is beautiful and warm beaches in a peaceful area. If that is your case, I would advise going to Vassilikos, situated at the tip of the Vassilikos Peninsula. As a matter of fact, there is no actual village, but just a gathering of a large number of houses and hotels in the middle of rolling hills and olive groves, also known as the ideal place to relax.

Besides, the beaches of the village are some of the best on the entire island of Zante, making it perfect for a family trip. Believe it or not, they are not that crowded compared to others across the island, and the resort is actually not that developed, making it particularly relaxing and peaceful.

This place is especially unique because it is quite far from the main, bustling action of the island, and there aren’t that many touristic activities there, which is why it is the right choice if you want to relax in a remote area with your loved ones.

Where to Stay in Vassilikos

Although Vassilikos is a relatively isolated and quiet resort in Zante, it doesn’t mean that you will have an easy time finding the right hotel for your family.

Actually, there are many choices, and I’m sure you will want to pick the perfect accommodation for your loved ones, so it can be very difficult to find what you want. Because of this, here are my 3 favorite accommodations in the wild resort:

On top of being a very calm place (which I know a lot of people already like, although it is not for everyone, I will give you that), Argassi is very close to Zante Town, the main action on the entire island with its tons of great activities and beautiful areas to visit.

Argassi is a very romantic resort with something for everyone: aside from the restaurants, bars, and shops, there is also a beautiful beach for you to relax on, all of this in a peaceful area.

Where to Stay in Argassi

Despite it being a quiet village, Argassi is still filled with plenty of facilities and other hotels. In order to save you a headache, and because I would rather have you and your loved one focus on the stay, and not the boring administrative part of it, I have selected my 3 favorite hotels in the village, enjoy:

✅ Best Hotel: Hotel Palmyra

Thanks to its fantastic value for money, tidy and clean interior, and wide, sunny exterior, Hotel Palmyra is for sure the best compromise for a hotel in Argassi.

Stylishly decorated, Hotel Palmyra has its own, on-site restaurant serving traditional Greek cuisine, and it is located on a busy street with lots of facilities nearby, such as restaurants, shops, and bars.

✨ Luxury Choice: Ionian Hill Hotel

Were it not for its luxury pricing, I would have for sure chosen the Ionian Hill Hotel as the best hotel in all of Argassi, not only for couples but also for any kind of traveler.

Honestly, there is everything you could wish for in this amazing 4-star hotel, from an outdoor swimming pool with breathtaking views of the sea to a very stylish and modern interior.

💰 Budget Pick: Hotel Papillon

Situated in the heart of Argassi, the Hotel Papillon will offer the best value for money for accommodation in the village. Don’t get me wrong, it still has tons of great perks, such as furnished balconies and a beautiful swimming pool.

In the vicinity, you will find markets and gift shops, and the on-site bar located by the poolside is also great.

Best Party Resort in Zante: Laganas

Boom, boom, boom. The bass of the nightclub you just went to still resonates in your head as you venture onto the warm sand of the beach.

The scenery is ideal, set on an isolated island in the middle of the Cyclades, in Greece, you are having the time of your life and you are watching the sunrise, early in the morning (or late at night!).

If this is what you are looking for during your next trip to Zante, my advice is to go to Laganas, by far the liveliest resort in Zante. This town has the most well-developed and busiest coastline in Zante, and it is filled with taverns, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

Sure, going out at night and resting during the day means you probably don’t care a lot about your accommodation, but there are still some basic rules to follow and needs to fulfill. Because of this, I have listed my 3 favorite party hotels:

✅ Best Hotel: Cactus Hotel

Thus hotel’s rooms are comfy, well-thought, and tidy and offer a relaxing atmosphere in a paradisiac scenery.

When it comes to partying, the Cactus Hotel is perfectly located, as you must have guessed. It is situated right next to the main points of interest such as bars and restaurants, in the very lively town of Laganas. Plus, it has its own swimming pool with a pool table!

✨ Luxury Choice: Castelli Hotel-Adults Only

This very charming accommodation has one big plus: each room has its own private swimming pool, which is pretty rare and perfect for partying! Also, I’m sure you will fall in love with the restaurant, offering a wide range of local food, but not too many just like in the large buffets of huge tourist hotels.

Last but not least, this hotel is situated in a great location with a lovely outdoor area, from which you can explore the surroundings and participate in multitudes of activities.

💰 Budget Pick: Timos Hotel

This very affordable hotel will offer the best value for money. It has everything you need, even a swimming pool, which is quite unusual for such attractive prices. Rooms are fairly spacious and have balconies overlooking the pool.

Similarly to other resorts, this one is particularly fit for nightlife because of its location: it is situated in the heart of Laganas, from which you can reach any restaurant or bar you need.

Alykes/Alykanas

Interestingly enough, Alykes and Alykanas are actually 2 small towns, but they are only 2 km / 1.2 mi from each other so they are often considered the same place. Situated about 16 km / 10 mi north of Zante Town, they are another great spot to stay on the island.

Although I know your main point of interest is most likely the pristine sand beaches of Zante, there’s much more to it. In case you like the historic side of the villages, you will enjoy visiting the 2 Venetian watchtowers surrounding both of them. Also, wine tasting is particularly popular in the area, and the main street is very calm; there, you will find restaurants, shops as well as plenty of other facilities.

All in all, these 2 villages are a great resort and a solid pick for your next stay in Zakynthos. Their atmosphere is overall calm and quiet, as there isn’t that much disturbance or nightlife.

Where to Stay in Alykes/Alykanas

Alykes and Alykanas are definitely wonderful villages, and because of this, you won’t be surprised to learn that there are plenty of accommodations for you to choose from.

Although it sounds overwhelming, let me help you right away: just pick one of my 3 favorite hotels in the villages!

✅ Best Hotel: Letsos Hotel

There isn’t any better option than the Letsos Hotel in Alykes and Alykanas. This accommodation, situated only 1 km / 0.6 mi away from the beach, has a gift shop, a bar, an absolutely wonderful outdoor swimming pool, and flat-screen TVs.

Also, in case you are afraid of being bored in Zante, this hotel is a pretty great choice thanks to its game room with darts tournaments and pool tables!

✨ Luxury Choice: The Lofos Studios

If what you need is a memorable stay in Alykes and Alykanas, and you have the budget, my advice is for sure the Lofos Studios. Despite their name, they are much better than average studios, and their swimming pool is fantastic.

These apartments have their own bar, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a terrace, on top of being located right next to a warm beach.

💰 Budget Pick: Giannis Studios

For travelers on a tight budget, worry not, as even in an area as demanded as Alykes and Alykanas, you can have what you are looking for: Giannis Studios!

These studios are situated about 400 m / 1,300 ft away from the beach, and all of them are fully equipped and have air-conditioning units. Also, the airport is only 14 km / 8.7 mi away!

Kalamaki

Kalamaki is yet another great choice for a resort on the island of Zante.

Indeed, this village is a beautiful and very peaceful place, located only 6 km / 3.7 mi from Zante Town. Because its main perk is its relaxing atmosphere, it is actually one of the best areas for couples and families on the entire island of Zante and will be a fantastic place for an older couple to stay.

In Kalamaki, there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars. It is an active city that will give you anything you need.

However, what I personally love most about this place is the fact that it is not located right on the seaside, and for a good reason: its beaches are the ideal place for loggerhead sea turtles, critically endangered reptiles, to nest on, and the light pollution would be disastrous for the species!

Where to Stay in Kalamaki

While not right next to the sea, Kalamaki is a great village with lots of hotels and apartments for you to pick (you will still be able to enjoy the beach, don’t worry!).

But I think that 3 of them clearly stand out, tell me if you agree:

✅ Best Hotel: Marelen Hotel Zakynthos

In terms of value for money, equipment, decoration, architecture, and (multiple) swimming pools, Marelen Hotel Zakynthos is the best hotel you will find in Kalamaki.

Believe it or not, there are actually 3 swimming pools in this hotel! It is located right next to the airport but far enough for the noise to be irrelevant, has a front desk open 24/7, and has an on-site restaurant with a rooftop. What more do you want?

✨ Luxury Choice: Golden Sun Resort – Adults Only

Golden Sun Resort is one of the best Zante beach resorts, but it is definitely on the more luxurious side.

This wonderfully decorated hotel is simply stunning. Its architecture is both interesting and unique, and it even has a jacuzzi, on top of being located right next to Crystal Beach, a theme park, the airport, and Vrontonero Beach.

💰 Budget Pick: Vanessa Hotel

For a budget option, Vanessa Hotel is incredible. It is situated right next to Kalamaki Beach and has a traditional, verdant Mediterranean garden.

What made me fall in love with this accommodation is its colors though. Everything is brightly colored and sparkling with excitement and joy. Oh, and the outdoor swimming pool is spotless and is another great plus for a budget-friendly hotel!

Kampi

Although the Cyclades are mostly famous for their intense tourism and bustling activity, they also have magnificent natural landscapes.

If you are one of those travelers who would rather explore the wilderness of the islands rather than just sit by the beach, you should go to Kampi, also written as Kambi.

This small village is situated on the western coast of Zante, and it has very few facilities for tourists. Instead, there are restaurants, taverns, and villas… and that’s it! Your mission will thus be to explore the surrounding areas and discover Greece from another angle!

Where to Stay in Kampi

Actually, there are very few options for hotels in the village, but the visit will be worth it, believe me.

Here, I have 3 ideas for you, depending on your budget:

✅ Best Hotel: SOHORO Forest Hill Apartment

Overall, I believe the SOHORO Forest Hill Apartment is your safest bet if you are heading to Kampi: no matter what your needs and budget are, it is an all-around option.

This apartment has it all: situated above the sea, it offers fantastic value for money, stands out with a few touches of color, and has beautiful views of the Ionian Sea!

✨ Luxury Choice: Villa Esperia

If you are looking for something fancier and more comfortable, then Villa Esperie is the way to go. You will for sure love this place if you are looking for a memorable stay in Greece.

Villa Esperia has a very wide and sunny terrace with mouth-dropping views of the sea, and it is situated in a calm area.

💰 Budget Pick: SOHORO Forest Hill Apartment

Believe it or not, despite how weird that may sound, you won’t find any better value for money than the SOHORO Forest Hill Apartment, so it is also my budget pick for a stay in Kampi!

This place honestly works for any kind of traveler, especially those who really want luxurious accommodation.

Tsilivi

As surprising as that may sound, Tsilivi is also known as Planos (which doesn’t have to do much with its other name).

This area is actually one of the most well-developed and most coveted resorts in Zakynthos and will be a particularly good fit for any kind of tourist, thanks to the multitudes of facilities you will find there, from supermarkets to bars and restaurants.

While it is not the best in any category, Tsilivi is overall a very good contender and is, in my opinion, a balanced choice that will answer anyone’s needs.

Where to Stay in Tsilivi

Everything you need doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easy to find everything you want. Let’s not waste time; have a look at my personal 3 picks:

✅ Best Hotel: Iakinthos, Tsilivi Beach

I am pretty convinced that, no matter what your needs are, they will be fulfilled by this hotel.

This accommodation is fairly affordable, and it offers great services such as an airport shuttle or a fitness center. It is situated on the beach, where you can drink the tasty cocktails they serve, so what more do you need?

✨ Luxury Choice: Contessina Suites & Spa – Adults Only

If you want a fancy place to stay where you won’t be bothered by kids, the Contessina Suites & Spa are most definitely what you need in Tsilivi.

As a matter of fact, it is arguably the best hotel in the entire area, if you don’t take its luxury pricing into account. Relaxing is key in this accommodation, as there is a swimming pool, a spa, and massages!

💰 Budget Pick: Sunrise Zante – Adults Only Hotel

The only problematic part about Sunrise Zante is that it is also only for adults (but, if you are traveling with kids, just go for the “best hotel” option, it is still affordable!).

Aside from that, this accommodation is one of the cheapest and yet very convenient ones in Tsilivi. It even has a large swimming pool and isn’t far from the center of Tsilivi!

Keri

Keri definitely had to be on this Zante best resorts list. It’s a village divided into 2 sections: the main tourist area, known as Limni Keri, and the rest of the traditional village, up in the hills.

This is, according to me, particularly lovely: no matter what you are looking for, you can find it in the village. The authentic, genuine experience of the Greek countryside versus the bustling activity near the sunny coastline: what will you choose?

Where to Stay in Keri

Beach or village, that is the question… For that, I can’t really help you. For hotels though, I have 3 ideas to give you:

✅ Best Hotel: Athenea Villas Private pools & private gardens totally individual

You will definitely be charmed by the Athenea Villas in Keri. The hosts are kind and caring, the view of the sea is absolutely exceptional and the accommodation as a whole is classy and romantic.

What I love most about this hotel is definitely the fact that it is perfectly calm, and that it has a wide terrace.

✨ Luxury Choice: Eptanisos Beachfront Suites Zante

Situated right next to Keri Beach, Eptanisos Beachfront Suites Zante is a marvelous option for a luxurious stay in Keri, Zante.

This hotel is overall of very good quality, from the furniture to the wide balcony or terrace. Its location is excellent, especially for families and kids, and there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity.

💰 Budget Pick: Dakis Studios

Dakis Studios is a fantastic and budget-friendly apartment in Keri. In fact, the village as a whole is one of the most affordable resorts in Zante Greece, and this accommodation is particularly cheap.

Don’t worry though, it has all the comfort you need, and is equipped with everything you want. Besides, it is only 5 minutes away from the beachfront and the sea and offers peaceful, relaxing views of it.

Katastari

There are not many resorts and areas in Zante that are as picturesque and authentic as Katastari.

This small village is located very close to the monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodromos, which dates back to the 17th century.

It also has its very own folklore museum, where you will discover Greece and its traditions from a brand new angle, through traditional, agricultural tools, embroidery, and silver.

Are you interested in traditions, culture, and folklore and want to stay in Katastari? Well, unless you know someone there, you’ll need a hotel. Pick one of these 3 if you don’t want to waste any time:

With its garden and view of the garden, Wabi Sabi is the #1 accommodation in Katastari. You will enjoy the entirety of the apartment and will be located only 10 minutes away from Alykanas Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the entire island of Zante.
