There you go, the 10 best Eiffel Tower views in the city. Now if you want more details, including photos, keep on reading.
1 – Jardins du Trocadero
The Jardins du Trocadero (Trocadero Gardens) are located on the northwest side of the Eiffel Tower, on the other side of the Seine River. It’s one of the most famous Eiffel Tower views, and it offers different views and angles of the Eiffel Tower.
However keep in mind that this place is permanently crowded; if you plan to go there, go early morning for sunrise, or be ready to face crowds of tourists. The best shots I have taken there were on early mornings when the sun was starting to rise above the horizon, and when all the people that usually crowd Paris were still in bed.
It’s definitely a must-see if you’re spending only a weekend in Paris!

Above the Fountain Of Warsaw.
In the Fountain of Warsaw: go there in the off-season when the water cannons are turned off, and go down in the basin. It makes for beautiful reflection shots after the rain.
Oh and by the way, if you want to enjoy the view without having to wake up too early, check out these hotels with a view on the Eiffel Tower!
2 – Carousel
If you keep going towards the Eiffel Tower from the Trocadero, you’ll end up in the « Place de Varsovie ». Go to the right when facing the Eiffel Tower, and you’ll find the iconic Carousel. Step back from it and you’ll have the perfect Eiffel Tower view with the picturesque Carousel; straight out of a postcard!
Do you really like carousels? Well you’re in luck, because there’s a second one 5 minutes away! Cross the Iena Bridge towards the Eiffel Tower, and you’ll find the « Eiffel Tower Carousel », another carousel with a different Eiffel Tower view.
3 – Pont de Bir-Hakeim
The Bir-Hakeim bridge is a popular bridge, that was made even more famous by the movie Inception (scene from the movie). Due to its proximity to the Eiffel Tower, it makes for perfect Eiffel Tower views. Go to different parts of the bridge, and experience different Eiffel Tower views!
From the north side entrance of the bridge, looking north, you’ll see a road going under the bridge and leading the eye towards the Eiffel Tower. This is a good spot to shoot at night, to catch light trails of the cars passing by.
From under the bridge, you’ll have a nice Eiffel Tower view with the bridge arches framing the monument pretty nicely.
Keep going to the middle of the bridge, where it extends out above the Seine with a nice viewpoint. There you can find the statue « La France renaissante » which really adds to the already beautiful Eiffel Tower view
4 – Arc de Triomphe
To me, the view of the Eiffel Tower from the top of the Arc de Triomphe is the best Eiffel Tower view in the city! In addition to having a 360° view of the city, you also have a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower from up high, with the streets of Paris and the buildings below.
The best time to climb the Arc de Triomphe is 1 hour before sunset. This will give you a nice Eiffel Tower view during day time.
Stick around when the sun slowly drops down below the horizon, and you’ll be at the perfect place to watch the sunset. After the sunset, you’ll be blessed by blue hour, and you will witness the Eiffel Tower light up.
One last tip: if you wait until the full hour (9 pm in summer), you will be rewarded with what makes tourists everywhere around the Eiffel Tower gasp in awe: the Eiffel Tower sparkling.
5 – Rue de l’Université
This one is not as famous as the first 4 locations, but you might have seen it on Instagram. Go to the very end of the street, up to 228 rue de l’Université. You’ll find a pretty classical Paris street, leading all the way to the Eiffel Tower.
There are always cars parked on the side of the road; this is the perfect opportunity to capture an innovative reflection shot of the Eiffel Tower. Simply place your camera or phone on the roof of any car (a shiny car will work best), and tadaaa! You’ve got yourself a pretty cool shot of the Eiffel Tower.

6 – Square Rapp
The 6th of the Eiffel Tower views is not too far from the previous one; you’ll get from one spot to the other in 5 minutes.
Square Rapp is one of these locations you wouldn’t even notice if you didn’t know it existed. If you walk in the street Avenue Rapp and pass in front of it, you’ll probably walk past it. But if you take your time, and look for it, you’ll end up in a pretty and tiny park from which you’ll have a unique Eiffel Tower view.

The unique fence marking the entry of Square Rapp is a beauty in itself. Add to it the Eiffel Tower in the background, and you’ll have an absolutely stunning view of the Eiffel Tower, that will make for an epic photo of the Iron Lady.
Additionally, when you exit the Square you’ll see on the right side of the street there’s a big glass window. You can use this to create a beautiful reflection shot of the Eiffel Tower.
7 – Seine Banks
One of the best locations to chill with a view on the Eiffel Tower. During the warm days, pack your bags with food and drinks, and head to the Seine Banks to enjoy a nice picnic close to the water, right below the Eiffel Tower.
The Seine banks can get quite crowded during summer, but you’ll always find a place to sit down and chill for a bit. Don’t expect to be alone, but you’ll find good vibes and nice music often filling the air when everyone is out enjoying the sun.
8 – Montparnasse Tower
Standing at 210 meters (689 feet), the Montparnasse Tower is the highest building in Paris (second if you count the Eiffel Tower, and third if you count the Tour First located in La Defense). Its height makes for a perfect vantage point to get a different Eiffel Tower view.
The view you get from the top of the Montparnasse Tower is similar to the one you could get by flying a drone in Paris (which is strictly forbidden).

Be warned however that the Montparnasse Tower is pretty far from the Eiffel Tower; you will need to be equipped with a telephoto lens to truly capture the beauty of the Eiffel Tower as seen from high up.
Even without a telephoto lens, the rooftop terrace of the Montparnasse Tower offers a wonderful panoramic view of the entire city of Paris.
9 – From Under
The last place you would think of the get nice Eiffel Tower views is… right under the Tower itself! You read that correctly: right underneath the Iron Lady. If you can’t access the top of the Eiffel Tower because of the insanely long queues, go under instead 🙂
As long as you haven’t been right under the Eiffel Tower, you haven’t truly realized how massive it really is. When seeing it from afar, I think we can’t really seize how colossal this piece of art is.
We use to be able to walk freely beneath the Eiffel Tower, but due to the recent terror attacks in Paris these past years, the city has decided to build a huge glass wall all around the Eiffel Tower. To enter the area, you must know queue up, and go through security checks.
Since you have to line up and queue to go under it, I would advise going really early (8 am) or really late (10 pm) to avoid crowds; you won’t have to wait long to enter.
Once you’re in, you’ll have a unique Eiffel Tower view from the bottom. Walk around and look up, you’ll be surprised to see how different the Eiffel Tower is from there.
10 – From Paris rooftops
The last spot on this list of best Eiffel Tower views is a bit different. One place where I love to go to have a different view of the Eiffel Tower is the rooftops.
To see Paris from above, with rows of roofs leading to the Eiffel Tower, gives you an indescribable feeling of freedom and excitement. If you want to see more photos taken from Paris Rooftops, check out Parkour Paris on Instagram
Most of the Paris rooftops are private property; it is thus illegal to go on them (go at your own risk). However there are several rooftops that are open to the public and that you can easily access: the roof of the Printemps shopping mall for example, or the many rooftop bars Paris has to offer.
Recommended Itinerary for the Best Eiffel Tower Views
It’s a good idea to start your day by visiting the first place on the list, Jardins du Trocadero. As you can see on the map if you’ve downloaded it, from this location you can then move on to 6 of the other locations on the list.
Here’s the itinerary I recommend to check out the most beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower – this will take you 20 minutes in total to walk from the first spot to the last one, including stopping at the 4 other locations.
Obviously, this will actually take you way longer than that, given that you stop to enjoy the view at every location. If you start early morning for sunrise at the Jardins du Trocadero, you’ll be through the itinerary and ready for other adventures by 10:30 am.
Start your day at the 1) Jardins du Trocadero. Enjoy different views and angles there, and make your way down to the Iena Bridge. There you’ll be at the location 2) Carousel.
Before crossing the bridge, you can go down the stairs on the side and you’ll end up in location 7) Seine Banks; this is the ideal location to chill for a bit, and enjoy a nice breakfast with a view.
Then, go back up the stairs, cross the bridge, and go to location 9) From under it. Enter the area below the Eiffel Tower and be amazed by how massive the structure really is.
When you exit the area, go straight to 5) Rue de l’Université; once you’re here, turn around and you’ll have a nice view of the Eiffel Tower, framed by the charming street.
Finally, walk 5 minutes to the location 6) Square Rapp.
If you follow this plan, you’ll have seen 6 of the Best Eiffel Tower views in the city. This is a good way to spend your morning in Paris; now go grab some well-deserved lunch and keep exploring the city!
