What Makes the Best Hotel in Cinque Terre Italy
➡️ Along the sea: As you noticed in the photos, most of the Cinque Terre villages are right next to the open sea, dramatically set on a cliff. That makes the hotels particularly keen to let you have the best view possible. You’ll find balconies or terraces so you can gaze into the horizon for countless hours, read a book, or plan your next Cinque Terre adventure.
➡️ Atmosphere: As well, the villages are pretty unique. You’ll find out pretty soon by yourself I hope. Most hotels aren’t what we might be used to; they seem to have a life of their own. Maybe it’s because of the colorful houses that light up the air when the sun starts hitting hard, or the large quantities of thrill seekers that come to this place that makes it so. Anyway, it’s very enjoyable.
➡️ Warm staff: Many of the hotels are family-owned, and some are shared houses with the inhabitants. Hospitality is something very important to the Ligurian people. Although they know their establishment will be fully booked because the place they live in is amazing, they’ll always go the extra mile to make your stay wonderful.

Thereafter, you’ll find my selection of the best hotels in the Cinque Terre for a very special vacation. The stress will be put on the price, so nothing too fancy will be found. Don’t worry, the service is nonetheless excellent.
THE Best Cinque Terre Hotel: La Toretta Lodge

Talking about atmosphere and charm, this ancient tower offers it all. It’s superbly located in the center of the incredibly beautiful village of Manarola, it’s set on a cliff, looking over a stunning bay. The Ligurian village of Manarola will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for sure.
Rooms are very luminous and furniture is antique as well as contemporary, most with a balcony. You can see the vineyards on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other.

Situated only meters from the station, the Affittacamere San Giorgio is the perfect place in Manarola for you and your family.
The old-fashioned Italian style furniture is of very good taste and fits nicely with the whole place. The rooms are large and extra beds can be added. A terrace with a city view will be awaiting you after a day of hiking, snorkeling, or sunbathing.
Best Budget Hotel in Manarola: Ca de Gianchi
- Nice location
- Good service
- Value for money
Traveling on a budget in Cinque Terre isn’t always easy, that’s why I always give you the cheapest, but still very good options in every village. Ca de Gianchi is a very nice studio, and the only thing cheap with it is the price. Relatively speaking of course.
It’s of very high quality and the only downside of such a place is its availability. Indeed, vacancy is very low in a place like Manarola, so it’s even worse when you are the cheapest around.
Be sure to book well in advance.

Rina Rooms is a guest house that is perfect for a family of four. If your family is larger, there should be no problem, just make sure you take the extra precaution of asking the host.

- Close to station
With an economical double room at the price of 50$ in the low season and 90$ in the high season, this is the cheap option that will suit you the best, I am sure.

Which Cinque Terre Village to Choose
For each village, I’ve summarised the main reasons why you should choose it:
Manarola: The most architecturally rich village of Cinque Terre. No resorts can be found here, only small family-run hotels and guest houses. A magnificent place overall. Good for hikers thanks to the location.
Riomaggiore: If you like a quality night out, this is your go-to. Although Levanto has an animated nightlife on the waterfront, Riomaggiore has unique places where you can let the nightly hours pass, in good company.
Vernazza: The center of Cinque Terre? Also the most renowned. The village is extremely picturesque, and you could spend a week just wandering the stairs and tiny streets. Very beautiful.
Monterosso: The accommodations are typically what you could expect of a luxurious resort here. No giant cliff for your overlooking terrace, but a nicely furnished garden and a large beach.
Corniglia: No access to the sea, so peace and quiet is what you find there. A very peculiar and unique place with a magnificent church.
Levanto: The place where most Cinque Terre inhabitants live. A very large seafront will let you enjoy all the perks of a seaside resort. Good for families.
