Scene: Ned Stark beheads the deserter of the Night’s Watch.

Scene: The landscape of Cairncastle is also used as the North of Winterfall in the series.

Scene: King Robert Baratheon comes to Winterfell to name Ned Stark the Hand of the King, after Jon Arryn died.

Tollymore Forest = Lands Around Winterfell
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 1, Season 1
Scene: The Night’s Watch find the bodies of the Wildlings, before encountering the White Walkers.
There is another scene filmed in Tollymore Forest, where Ned Stark and his sons find the Direwolf’s puppies.

Scene: On the island of Dragonstone, Melisandre burns the statues of the Seven, while chanting “The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors”.

The Dark Hedges = Kingsroad
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 1, Season 2
Scene: Arya Stark is travelling on the Kingsroad with Yoren, disguised as a Night’s Watch recruit. She is fleeing from King’s Landing.
Dunluce Castle = Pyke and Iron Islands
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 2, Season 2
Scene: Theon is sent to Pyke by Robb Stark; he is guided by his sister, disguised as a guide.
Ballintoy = Lordsport Harbour & Pyke
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 2 & 3, Season 2
Scene: Theon returns to Lordsport Harbour in the second episode of the second season. In the third episode, he is blessed by a Drowned Man with sea water.

Scene: The location is used again later in the series; it’s where Euron Greyjoy drowns in seawater, and resuscitated. He is then claimed King of the Iron Islands.

Scene: This location is where the Oxcross battle takes place, and where Robb Stark meets Talisa after he won the Oxcross battle.

Cushendun Caves = A Cove in the Stormlands
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 4, Season 2
Scene: Melisandre and Davos reach a cave on the coast, and enter. Inside the cave, Melisandre gives birth to the Shadow, while Davos looks in horror.
Leitrim Lodge = North of Winterfell
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 2, Season 3
Scene: Bran leaves Winterfell, and is on his way to Castle Black. He is travelling with Rickon, Osha, Summer, Shaggydog, Hodor and the direwolves. He is looking for Jon Snow.

River Quoile = Riverrun
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 3, Season 3
Scene: Hoster Tully is dead, and his funeral is being held in Riverrun, attended by Catelyn and Robb Stark. His body is put on the water, in a funeral boat. As the tradition has it, his body is hit by a flaming arrow, to allow his ashes to return to the Trident River.

Pollnagollum Cave = Hollow Hill
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 4, Season 3
Scene: The Hollow Hill is the headquarters of Beric Dondarrion. The Brotherhood Without Banners have captured Arya Stark, Gendry and the Hound, and lead them to the secret caves.

Galboly, the Glens of Antrim = Runestone
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 1, Season 5
Scene: Sansa Stark and Littlefinger are observing Lord Robin at Runestone, during a sword jousting session.
Note that the season 5 of Game of Thrones was also filmed a lot in Seville, Spain!

Quintin Bay = Stokeworth
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 2, Season 5
Scene: On the bay next to Castle Stokeworth, Bronn and Lollys see Jaime on the beach. Jaime tries to persuade Bronn to help him bring Myrcella back to King’s Landing.

Portstewart Strand = Coast of Dorne
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 4, Season 5
Scene: Jaime and Bronn arrive on the beach to save Myrcella. They are discovered by Dornish Guards, and end up killing the 4 guards. On the same sand dunes, Jaime and Bronn are attacked by the Sand Snakes.

Scene: While on their way to Meereen, Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont are attacked by stone men.

Games of Thrones episode: Episode 5, Season 5
Scene: Tyrion Lannister and Jorah are attacked by stone men while on the sea. After the attack, the two men hide on the shore.

Scene: After the attack by stone men, and while on the bay, Tyrion and Jorah are attacked and captured by slavers, lead by Malko.

Scene: After flying away from Meereen on the back of Drogon, Daenerys is spotted by 3 Dothraki riders, and is soon surrounded by a khalasar.

Scene: In the Riverlands, the Hound helps Ray build a monastery. Later, the Brotherhood Without Banners murders all of the villagers, and hang Ray.

Games of Thrones episode: Episode 3, Season 7
Scene: On top of the cliffs, Varys is arguing with Melisandre, telling her that she is avoiding Jon Snow. He then orders her to leave Westeros forever.

Carnlough Harbour = Braavos Canal
Games of Thrones episode: Episode 6, Season 7
Scene: After being attacked by the Waif, and almost dying, Arya Stark barely escapes. She jumps in the river, and then comes out of the water on the harbour steps.

Titanic Studios
The Game of Thrones production has moved a lot of the filming directly in Belfast, and they’re recreating a massive set in the Titanic Studios.
The 10 Doors of Thrones
In the beginning of 2016, Storm Gertrude hit Ireland, and was causing chaos across the country: gusts of winds were reaching 160 km/h (100 mph)!
When it hit The Dark Hedges, a stunning location in Northern Ireland, and also a filming location in Game of Thrones, the storm destroyed 2 trees, that fell down.
The trees were salvaged, and reused: 10 beautifully carved doors were created, 1 for each episode of Season 6. The doors are now in various parts of the country, waiting for explorers to find them.
