What Makes the Top Hotels in Lisbon?
When you don’t know a city, it could be complicated while you’re looking for a hotel to decide which aspects are the most important. In fact, depending on the place, expectations will be different.
That’s the reason why I decided to make a list of the main criterias, to help you in your choice. Each recommended place in this post includes the following aspects:
1. The location: since Lisbon is a big city, it’s better to be located in the center or at least close to it. In fact, it’s much more convenient when all the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. Also, the public transportation is really efficient in the center, so it will be easier for you to move to other parts of the city. I would recommend districts such as Chiado, Baixa or Alfama which are all very convenient. If you choose a hotel in the center, it also means that you won’t need to go too far to enjoy good restaurants and find plenty of shops.
2. Comfort: when you’re discovering a city, most of the time, you’re pretty busy during the day. You’ll walk a lot everywhere to discover the place, so at the end of the day you’d love to relax. That’s why it’s really important to book a comfortable hotel. The main aspects are to be sure to have a comfy bed and a soundproof room. Indeed, there’s a lot of traffic in Lisbon and the nightlife is pretty important there. Be aware that in some parts of the city, access can be complicated since there are many steep streets; this is also another important point to check.
3. Local feel: if you’re coming to Lisbon, it would be a shame to miss the local atmosphere; indeed, Lisbon is a really charming city. Do you know the Fado show? It’s a typical music genre of Lisbon you can listen to while you’re strolling in the streets. Some shops and restaurants also offer Fado Shows. There are plenty of other Portuguese traditions; this is why it’s better to find a hotel that respects this charming style, so you can feel the real Portuguese vibe.
4. Great Value for Money: in Lisbon, hotels can be expensive as in many touristic cities. When looking for hotels there, you’ll have lots of options. Most of them look beautiful and attractive but it’s important to check the price and the reviews so you won’t have nasty surprises. Don’t worry, in Lisbon you can also find lots of good hotels with a great value for money. I tried to make an exhaustive list of many options to help you to find the best deals.
The Best Hotels Lisbon Has to Offer
As said above, Lisbon offers a lot of accommodation options. Each of them has different charm, distinct amenities and different locations. It’s important to take into account the right criterias, so you won’t be disappointed and you’ll find the perfect place for you.
